In 1824, Giuseppe Alliata (Prince of Villafranca, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, Grandee of Spain, and Duke of Salaparuta) produced 5,000 bottles of wine from grapes grown in his prized Contrada Corvo vineyards in Casteldaccia, just outside of Palermo. Thanks to a discerning taste for fine wine and vinification techniques which he mastered in France, Giuseppe and the Alliata family marked the beginning of a revolution in the production of Sicilian wines, with distinct aromas and an unmistakable personality. Today, more than 190 years later, Corvo has become the Sicilian brand of choice, and a name that is synonymous with quality and tradition – both in Italy and worldwide.

With continued dedication to those values, Corvo has cultivated long-standing relationships with growers from every part of the island over the last 100 years. The grapes are carefully hand-selected from vineyards in the best growing areas in Sicily, where plantings are determined by soil composition, altitude, exposure and microclimates. Our team of agronomists offers constant support in vineyard management and monitors all stages of grape growing and vineyard care. The end result of these combined efforts enhances the bold bright fruit, refreshing acidity, and elegance that Sicilian varietals are known for.
